Miroku 弥勒, a Buddhist monk who travels around to perform spiritual services,more often than not to earn comfortable rewards. His weapons consists of his holy staff and sutra scrolls, and the most powerful weapon, the Wind Tunnel embedded in the palm of his hand.
It is a hereditary curse originally inflicted by Naraku upon Miroku's grandfather. The Wind Tunnel sucks in anything in its path and is a powerful weapon against demons. However, it grows larger with increasing use, so that Miroku's grandfather and father were eventually consumed by their own Wind Tunnels. Hopping to break the curse by killing Naraku, Miroku joined Inuyasha and the others.
Besides being a monk, Miroku is incorrigibly leacherous, flirting and asking random women to bear him a child. Behind this, Miroku also has the more serious motive; having an heir to to carry on the kill if he died without defeating Naraku. In the end, Miroku is free of his curse and marries Sango. Together, they have three children (twin girls and a boy).
